How to find us:
Newbiggin-on-Lune is remarkably easy to get to, considering that it has fells all around. It is located six miles East of the M6 motorway at junction 38, on the A685. The village is more or less midway between Tebay and Kirkby Stephen. Cranesbill Barn is in the middle of the village.
The quaint village of Ravenstonedale is one mile away: by car along the A685; or on foot or bike along the new cycleway. This village has a shop, a church, and two very fine pubs. Five miles beyond Ravenstonedale along the A685 lies Kirkby Stephen, the nearest market town. These communities are described on the Local Amenities page. A further four miles along the A685 brings you to Brough and the A66 cross-country route. The former county town of Appleby-in-Westmorland is 18 miles away along the A685 and A66; or 13 along beautiful back roads.
